The seven weeks of training basically justs tries to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you. It’s an overwhelming amount of information and a lot of useless once you actually finish training and get out in the field. Additionally, during the training period, they will assign you daily “homework” after training all day. The homework usually consists of recording videos of yourself and “role-playing” and acting as the salesperson and customer…it’s completely idiotic.
Once you get out in the field they assign you around 1000 leads. A great majority of these leads are either completely out of business, are tiny mom and pop shops with no budget for marketing or in industries they tell you that you shouldn’t be selling to. Your whole activity levels and bonuses are based on these leads. If you try to solicit any business that’s not a part of these leads you’re given and you actually make a sale to them, your commission will be a fraction of a sale to their bogus leads.
Turnover for the “Digital Account Executive” position is very high. During my training class a number of people quit during the first 7 weeks not to mention many others that quit as soon as they actually started to try and sell their services.
Lastly, this market is pretty saturated. A lot of businesses already have mature and effective digital marketing systems and vendors. It’s a difficult sale and even more difficult with Hibu’s poor online reputation. You only have to Google Hibu to see all the negative reviews and feedback.
