Vantaggi

Due to the absent middle management, fast-paced work environment, and the amount of work placed on your desk in a short period of time you will gain important professional skills for you to take on to the next place. It’s a decent place to work for your first job. Hybrid work environment.

Svantaggi

Lots of nepotism - family members and children of the CEO friends are brought on to work in positions for which they are not qualified. No room for advancement - management will promise and promise a position or opportunity that will never come No 401K match - don’t let them fool you with the private stock nonsense. There are many people still working there last retirement age because they cannot afford to retire due to the lack of employer contributions. Upper Management will tell the employees that private stock is intended to replace a retirement contribution AND it’s considered “delayed compensation” to make up for low wages The company is growing so fast they are losing the values along the way Middle Management has no backbone. Won’t stand up for what the employees need. There are no set standards of work or pay nor is there pay equality.

Vantaggi

I was extremely excited to get started at Higg. Even during the interview process, I met some amazing people who seemed to live the values that are at the heart of who the company is. I was in. The CEO Rusty, is a pretty amazing guy, and it's hard not to be inspired when he's around. The pay is good. But the people are what make Higg what it is, with some exceptions.

Svantaggi

Benefits are just ok, and very expensive for those with a family. I unfortunately worked for people I wasn't a good fit with, and didn't want to utilize my expertise; don't hire for a director-level role when you really just want a trainer who does what you tell them to do. My decisions were overridden, and the times I tried to make counterarguments, I was met with hostility. Higg is very click-ish as well, and when you go against one person, you feel it from their friends. Formalized training is still in its infancy here, so I'm glad you're investing in it, but give it time to work. It's ok to iterate, but give things time as you can't measure impact if you keep changing everything and expecting immediate results, especially when the initial results were highly-positive (so I'm not even sure what they wanted). I was also asked to travel significantly more than explained during the hiring and interview process (and I explained my limitations in advance, as family is my priority). Had you been truthful about those expectations, I wouldn't have taken the role.
