Vantaggi

Experience- Highwire is a great stepping stone for gaining experience, but get out quickly.

Svantaggi

Management- The senior management team at Highwire is dishonest and passive aggressive. Most of management doesn’t have enough years of experience under their belts needed for the titles they hold. One on one conversations with managers are completely different than how you are actually positioned in performance reviews. Promotions are promised to occur, but then take extended amounts of time to happen because one manager (usually one you rarely work with) claims you’re not ready. Morale- It’s extremely hard to see peers and junior staff crying and upset in the workplace on a regular basis due to nasty comments from managers (+principals) and working late on ridiculous projects. Highwire is filled with rumors and a common topic of conversation is “who’s leaving next.” The focus on people’s attitudes is unreal and you can’t simply have a bad day without it spinning off into something larger. This review will lead to fingers being pointed and I’m sure whoever seems the unhappiest at the moment will get a check-in scheduled with HR.

Vantaggi

- One of the few companies that have kept their DEI initiatives. - Hybrid schedule

Svantaggi

Whew! Where do I start? - PR management seems to be fine, but if you’re on the digital side…good luck. - No clear career path. - This company is always hiring, but over the past year they’ve quietly laid off dozens of people. - There’s extreme favoritism. Some folks who leave on their own accord get a full send off and even a happy hour toast while I learned others were gone via a company-wide email sent after they had already left. - They don’t value humans. Ever since they got a holding company involved, it’s only about the bottom line. The company is bleeding money so they get rid of people to try to patch the wound. - The culture used to be great apparently, but in the last 2 years, it’s really gone downhill. - They keep PRing you like everything is fine, then another round of firings happen. You never know if you’re on the chopping block. Everyone is on edge all the time never knowing if you’re next. - Overworked, underpaid, zero guidance.
