Vantaggi
Training is fantastic, some good humoured colleagues to bounce ideas and experiences off. If you genuinely like the general public, can build a relationship quickly, don't offend easily, can laugh things off and it's not your main source of income then there can be some outrageously hilarious experiences and a great buzz too on a large order value. If you like your own company and life on the road, just you and your music playlist then this is worth a look.
Svantaggi
Although a self employed role this Company owns you, so if you think part time whilst doing something else they will be nervous of conflict of interest and would push for full time availability including evenings and weekends. So you can't plan things just in case an appointment arrives in the diary. There are plenty of cancellations, people not in, loads of mileage at your own expense and even people that don't want you at all (that's the outbound sales team filling the diary for you) Head office support are the nicest people on the planet but even they can't control the processes. Clients like to have communication & regularly so think big order, then no contact from head office and plenty of cancelled orders, customers get nervous, try putting a smile on your face after a big order value goes down the swanny for the rest of the week. Therefore I repeat the job that doesn't sleep... take control of sorting out the customer service yourself all whilst on the road and fitting in clients all day within allocated time slots. Customers don't always tell the truth, emotions run high. So not for the feint hearted and remember if you divide your time spent into sorting out issues to retain the client, into the actual commission earned, realistically you are probably minimum wage. There are a few big earners, you know this because they win prizes every year, it's the same people so it's boring & not motivational at all.
