Job security, benefits, and contrary to what my first review stated: a LOT of new equipment. Thanks CARES act! Seniority is law, and is grieved when violated. Special treatment, or mistreatment of individuals is not tolerated. For line haul: comprehensive compensation (get paid clock time for almost everything, including too much wait time in the hotel). Daycabs only; you too can feel like a civilized human being with a hotel room, and shower every day you’re not at home. For city: Overtime after 8, and time-and-half for volunteer weekend shifts (or double time, I can’t remember)

Currently going through 5 a year merger to bring all Yellow Corp subsidiaries into a more unified organizational structure. There’s frustrations, and growing pains to it. Every terminal has its own set of rules; be prepare to get talked down to by the locals for not knowing all of *their* rules. Tag axles with smart valves (gross). 63 Mph (boredom drool) For line-haul open board drivers at end-of-the-line terminals: central dispatch is required to follow work rules for dispatch on a every day of the week except Friday. Often times that means that you’ll be entitled to a Thursday night dispatch that takes you too far from home to make it back home on your Friday dispatch, and you will therefore be ‘hung-out’. However, you can make requests to be home Saturday morning, but are then subject to a forced Sunday night dispatch. Which bring me to one of the biggest cons of line-haul at this company: a six-day work week. Until you have the seniority to hold a 5-day bid, or preference out of Sunday loads, you may be working a lot of six-day weeks, especially in the busy season.
