The maintenance section was undervalued.

I loved working here, I thought the benefits were great, you can easily go home and take off your "work" hat. The people are kind, there are some office politics, but most I missed when I left. I got annual increases and my boss was awesome. They focus on the mission and value who we serve.

If you want to progress here, you have to fight for it. They often would tell employees they werern't hiring for a position or not let them apply, Then hire someone for a leadership role without considering people want to move up. (This didn't happen to me but 3 people I worked with). I knew if I wanted more roles and a bigger titie I would have to move, unfortunately. This organization has grown very quickly and they have a small company vibe but are very corporate. Sometimes there are landmines. If you find a leader you love and want to work for, the frustration will be limited. Overall I am so thankful for the time I had and I would go back in the future for a role that's worth fighting for.
