Vantaggi

I did not find any pros here

Svantaggi

As someone who has worked in crisis intervention, 911 dispatch, and as a crisis counselor as multiple agencies- this company does many things that go against what the culture should be for employees who are working in mental health. For one, they require crisis workers, who are taking live calls for people on the suicide hotline, to stay on camera and be watched by supervisors during their shift and their calls. This is an extremely invasive, uncomfortable, and micro-managing way to run a crisis line. I do not know how anyone feels comfortable taking calls while being watched. Second, I became very sick during the initial new hire training, (actively throwing up) and I reached out to the trainer during the live zoom training to see what my options were to be able to make up the (4 hour) training another day since I was actively throwing up. The trainer was very kind, however the response she told me she received from the Director was "can you push through?'- while I am ACTIVELY throwing up and being required to be on camera and be lectured on crisis material I couldn't focus on. I advised the trainer there was no way for me to "push through" actively vomiting and remain on camera and present for the training, and the Director advised that my "employment would not be guaranteed." I quit on the spot. THIS is not how a mental health organization should be run. You are expecting your employees to give their best to callers in crisis, yet you have no care for the well-being and mental health of the workers themselves. The micro-managing is INSANE here- they treat you like you are a child who needs to be watched 24/7- despite having multiple degrees in mental health and extensive experience in crisis intervention. Not to mention the pay.... lowest in the industry. Not worth it, at ALL. Thankfully I did not need this job. If you are wanting to do this very meaningful work- go to another 988 agency, not this one.
