-They do not hire based on qualifications, there is more interest in getting people in the door to cover shifts. There is high turnover due to this and it makes the work environment uncomfortable, as most staff are unqualified to perform duties especially in crisis. Most organizations have a gossip culture. HRDI takes this to an extreme. Not only is this encouraged, but it is laughed off when addressed to your supervisor. I had a manager tell me, "It has been like this for 15 plus years, I don't see it changing anytime soon." There is no training to enhance quality of services and no opportunities to advance unless you are friends with upper management. Half of the staff have been friends outside of work for more than a decade. If you do not conform to their culture, which is very similar to a high school, you will not be a priority. this is regardless of your work ethic, credentials, or certifications obtained within the company. Multiple employees were encouraged to obtain certifications with the promise of increasing pay or higher positions. these promises were never fulfilled. Lastly, there are employees with no regard for the care of the clients at multiple sites but in particular the CTC (Community Triage Center) There are employees who sleep throughout the shifts, watch Netflix and Tubi for 8 hours, and do little to assist clients even those seeking shelter and emergency mental health care.
