Svantaggi
During my tenure, I never expected that this place would go from a depressive sioled environment to a year and a half walking into a hospice. It dawned on me that it's like going to the doctor and the doctor (management) is lying to give you false hope (that never materializes) either out of lack of knowledge or confidence and say the medication will work when in fact you know you don't have much time left. In other words, bandaids to solve issues. Especially in light of recent developments with the ousted CEO, the air is thick with head hung low employees which translates to low morale which is contagious and if you are optimistic and happy you are deemed strange. But I've come to the sad realization that this is HSUS. I knew before I joined this organization that turnover was high, culture was a non-existent and my interviewer and job description never prepared me for the role at hand or expectations. It is widely known that their onboarding process for new staff is poor so if you are coming from another non-profit the learning curve will be very steep and long yet expectations are high. SOPs are written in elementary style if they even exist in your department and managers are either too busy to coach, mentor, guide and exhibits a more warm deposition to others that do not work directly for them. Less than 2% minorities so lack of diversity in POC is a conspicuous, as well as lack of diversity across academia, work experience, exposure to different environments and diversity of thought. Like many reviews, if you are of a certain look you will be promoted not on great merit or going above and beyond but ...oh she's skinny and pretty! Superficially sad. Managers have zero management skills. Some articulate well but if you listen closely they make no sense, talk in circle or lack critical thinking or ahead of the curve mindset. So in theory, sounds great! In practice, the agency or staff will execute the job or come up with the creative ideas. Lack of stable data infrastructure Employees get praised for kudos (snaps) that are not earth shattering and this does not work well or motivate other employees because especially in marketing not all can make a contribution to warrant a snap (kudos) depending on their role. Too much favoritism Employees are praised for working weekends and nights but yet they receive comp days. Maybe this is the culture, but where I have worked if you need to work 12 hours you work 12 hours and do what you have to do.
