Great exposure to projects with room for growth - Recensione dipendente - Designer presso Huniford Design Studio

Huniford has a great and growing clientele that allows room for creative freedom on the design side. You will learn a lot at a very quick pace and be involved with all aspects of the design process. If you are on the designer side (Huniford also has devoted architects) you will focus mostly on design, but also can be integrated into the architectural aspects when necessary. I found that this allows me to focus more on the creative/design side, which is what I prefer. But if you prefer to have an integration of architecture and interiors, that would be possible too. Ford is great at delineating tasks and finding who has strengths and weaknesses in certain areas.

Attention to detail is extremely important in this position, and this field in general. You have to be organized at all times, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. Every project has its ups and downs of stressful vs. more relaxed times.

There really aren't any pros.

Worst job I've ever had. Employees are at the mercy of the owner's unpredictable behavior and emotional outbursts. There are constant tantrums and screaming in the office. The owner treats everyone, regardless of job title, as his personal assistant. He oscillates between yelling and the silent treatment. It was similar to living "The Devil Wears Prada", but with a lot of yelling and no Prada. This was a very verbally abusive office. There are no systems of operation in place, which is wild for a business that has been open for almost two decades.
