Overall, Huntsman is a decent company. They have great benefits, very friendly co-workers, cover a broad range of industries, look for acquisitions about every 2 years, take action on decisions when they're made. And, fortunately, I found most offices to lack the normal politics.

Oh, the list is quite long. The Huntsman family prides themselves on having loyalty to their employees, but I found that to be far from the truth. After working there for over 5 years I've seen they are are far more concerned with satisfying shareholders than the employees. Many times they paid out an exorbitant amount in dividends while providing little to no incentive payouts to the employees.They have acquired so many companies over the years that they have been unsuccessful in aligning synergies, thus, they work highly inefficiently. I found the management to be disengaged and seems to lack the interest in the operations side of the business. The structure is very segmented and quite lean with the corporate office being very fat...too fat...as common in most corporate environments. Because of the segmentation employees often are only responsible for their very small piece of the pie rather than being engaged in all aspects of the business. This lends itself to a very unchallenging environment and a lack of accountability on the part of many employees.
