Svantaggi
I wish that I could reach out to the other reviewer and commiserate because my time spent working at Hy.ly was a nightmare. I was hired as an intern and given a stack of articles to read. On day three, Munish sat me down and asked me to show him what I had done for him. Mind you, I was an unpaid intern and he had been out of town my first three days "on business". He hired me as an intern on a $1000/month stipend after a few weeks, but it took an additional several weeks for him to start paying me. Hours were set to 10am to 7pm and overtime was not paid. When I told him I needed to take on a second job to support continued time with him, he became upset and told me his family would have less money then. He gave me a raise to $2500 a month, but could only support this for about a month before letting me go. I was never given a job description and Munish would regularly ask me what I wanted to do for him. When asked for a list of roles he needed fulfilled or tasks to be done, he would back away and ask me to think about what I really wanted to do. This may work for some people, but I feel that he had no right to get angry with me for my inability to read his mind. Furthermore, I did not develop transferrable skills during my time there. We had daily scrum meetings at the start of the day where we would identify everything we planned to do. He would invariably change everything and tell us we needed to get better at identifying responsibilities when he lacked a clear vision. Throughout the day Munish would ask us for our progress and he frequently changed his mind on what we should prioritize. Collaboration was limited to Skype and there was little in person interaction, outside of Munish's criticisms, even though we were in a room together. Hy.ly has gone through multiple permutations and never seemed to have a clear vision beyond a few days ahead. We had signed on a new client in my last month there with the promise that our marketing automation software would send out emails for this client. The software in actually was unable to send out emails--this deceptive practice is an embarrassment. Employers don't have to be nice to their employees, but Munish could be downright cruel and manipulative. We had to use our own laptops for work. Mine could get sluggish at times and Munish would yell at me because I was wasting time. Sometimes he paid us late; training and benefits weren't options. His work conditions are unfair and unethical, and I would strongly discourage anyone from pursuing an unpaid internship or employment under Munish.
