You will be given the chance to wonder what you did in a past life to deserve the awful treatment that you will receive at Hydrokem, from a toxic culture that includes being worked like a dog despite being short-staffed constantly, being blamed by management for the shortcomings of the companys operations, being promised things that never get delivered and generally getting treated with contempt by managers. Staff moral is in the absolute crapper, employee representative meetings are more of a lip service exercise that don't amount to anything productive, one half of the workforce hate the place, the other half are too downtrodden and exhausted to put up any real fight to strive towards any sort of effective change. It doesn't end there, no sirree! You will also discover very quickly that not only are the management wound so tight that the slightest infraction will set them off like a powder keg, you will also discover that colleagues who will act like your friend will stick a knife in your back the second it's turned to them. There are some good people working in that place, but unfortunately they are overshadowed by the bad apples that will make problems for you. There is no effective organisation, no effective communication and the work you do is not worth the pay you receive. The management regime in Hydrokem borders on totalitarian, employee concerns are disregarded, health and safety violations are commonplace, working conditions are abysmal, employee support is practically non-existent. If you can get by - by keeping your mouth shut, not having an opinion, not speaking up about issues, and being generally denigrated and degraded by your colleagues and superiors, then Hydrokem is the place for you, otherwise steer clear.
