Vantaggi

- Permission to WFH - Office location - If you love the Petrochemicals and Energy markets, you’ll be able to read free market updates - Decent Petchem products. - Decent Market Dev team - Miraculously, there are still a few remaining old hands who are actually useful to the company - Really, scratching the barrel here, so will have to stop it at that.

Svantaggi

- If you want to be rewarded financially for your hardwork and achievements (and you don’t belong to a particular “group”) look elsewhere. The fact that they do not reward based on hardwork and commitment shows you their true colours – they do not care for the financial well being of committed employees, outside of their exclusive clique. - Zero recognition of hardwork and achievements to the poor individuals who have to work for amateurish micro managers/micro aggressors who have little idea of what they’re doing. - What previously made the company a good enough place to work for, despite the lower pay, is no longer there: - Poor selection of new middle/senior management who lack both skill and experience needed for them to be useful to the company. - Where roles should have gone to candidates more deserving, sadly, those who suffer are the workers who have to constantly Spoon Feed their managers – in all aspects - which means that you end up being stretched beyond your limit on poorer pay. Although these Managers are good at “managing up,” putting on a glossy veneer of competence, what no-one knows is that, once their strong team member(s) leave – they’ll have Nothing to hide behind. No-one to sponge off. And delivery which could’ve been executed by 1 person will take an entire army. And they end up hiring more + more people to hide the fact that managers really should not have been put in a role that’s out of their depth. - As the mass exodus of talented and very committed employees gather pace, the company’s foundations and growth will take a nose dive. - Ethnic diversity in management still remains an issue. Despite their “inclusive speak.” There is none in SLT, precious few in management, you see more filling a support role – despite their competence. - It’s a job, not a career. - People leave managers, not companies. There are several new incompetent ones who were put in their positions due to who they knew previously, they have zero knowledge of what we sell nor our industry. They have no reason to either - as time goes no, they’re so accustomed to leaning on others. They lose the part of their brain which forces them to actually just learn and think independently. You end up having to babysit them, spoon feeding them on demand, for them to sponge off. More than actually doing the job. This can be a massive productivity killer, later and later nights and can be very destructive. - When you eventually leave, you’ll find it trickier if you do not have a larger brandname on your CV. ICIS is known in Petchems + Gas but if your next job doesn’t involve that, you better think about broadening your CV before joining. - The construction is reminding me more and more of the Boeing 737….

Vantaggi

The culture, daily support from coworkers and management alike, opportunities to travel, opportunities for personal growth as well as professional growth, flexible working schedule, benefits. I have worked at this company for almost two years now, and I have YET to have a bad day. I owe it to the CONSTANT support from management, as well as the support the editorial team gives me daily. I have worked in many roles, and been a part of many teams, but I have NEVER seen a culture like the one at ICIS. The editorial team is strong and supportive, and my management is invested in my personal and professional development. Not only have I received support from management as I learned my role, I have also received an IMMENSE amount of support from the editorial team as a whole. I can't think of a single person on my team that I wouldn't be able to call and ask for help. Actually, I believe I have turned to every single person on the editorial team for some type of support, at some point in these past two years. Management continues to impress me as I learn my role and want to expand my learning. Every opportunity I have been given is one that I asked for. I have YET to be denied any form of growth or advancement within the company. When I first joined ICIS, I expressed an interest in traveling to conferences to build connections within the industry, and management has given me every opportunity imaginable to foster that interest. The benefits include competitive pay, tuition reimbursement, and a flexible working schedule – 2 days in office, which you get to pick. The office itself is extremely nice and it is obvious management had employee comfort in mind when they leased it. I cant thank ICIS, and management enough for fostering such a great work environment for its employees.

There are absolutely ZERO cons, and I am not just saying that.

Vantaggi

Good initial sales skills training, Nice work life balance, Well respected data & market experts, Sales Enablement support. A great platform to learn skills & get experience so you can earn more money elsewhere after 18-24 months.

Svantaggi

Sales leaders talk about high performance but no one really does it, if you do it great, if you dont no one cares. Its a grind daily, churning out renewals. Sales leaders talk about performance and say its the important thing, except at the end of month/qtr/year (so all the time) when all they want to hear about it when is the deal coming in and for how much. Salary very average and targets re quite high so making good commission, pretty unlikely. The excellence club is quite funny, they suggest you plan for it, but the reality is its a lottery, even if you smash your number and deliver 'High performance' it comes down to have you been before (if you have, probably not going again) and have you brown nosed the Head of Sales enough. If you get to go, its a very nice trip, but dont plan on it.
