Vantaggi
The people. I have made some great friends here. This is why I was happy to give this place even one star! Brighton provides options for some very nice lunches (although I guess your wallet won't appreciate you for it). It's near the train station and multiple bus stops which is handy but if you drive parking is non-existent unless you're willing to pay a lot of money. There's free tea and coffee and a fridge, microwave and toaster.

Most inflexible and hypocritical employer I've worked for. You are expected to go above and beyond for them (and won't get rewarded as such), but they won't be at all flexible with you. Hours are 9:00 till 5:30 with an hour unpaid lunch which you have to stick to, so flexitime is non-existent. You could do all the extra hours in the world with no reimbursement but if your ten minutes late, expect to make up those ten minutes some how. I also saw people get "promotions" without pay rises; they were just expected to take on the extra responsibility and not get reimbursed. With this, the culture is very out dated, felt very "old boys club". I was micromanaged beyond belief and told how to do my job by a manager who had no idea how to do my job? I couldn't just get on with what I do. Pay is also way below the industry standard, so this doesn't even make up for any of the cons of this place. I've also never seen an employer recruit so poorly as they do. They constantly struggle to hire and retain people yet change nothing about what they're doing and just complain about it. The only benefit they think they reward you with is "Thirsty Thursday" once a month. This is where they allow you to finish 30mins earlier and provide some alcohol and food bits in the fridge. This is as far as their "flexibility" and "benefits" go. There is also absolutely NO progression. I also heard some disgusting comments from certain employees on a regular basis, which included laughing about people's mental health issues, moaning about their staff's behaviour (if there's a problem, talk to the employee behind closed doors and professionally), and moaning about people being signed off work - to name a few. I made all these comments in my exit interview, and I'm almost certain nothing well done to address them. This place seriously started to make me miserable and I'm glad I got out when I did. Would never recommend nor return.
