Vantaggi
-Awesome culture among CTAs -Very supportive line management -Lots of job opportunities, room to grow -Merit-based rewards, bonuses, etc. -Good for independent workers, no micro-management -Management in Clinical Operations does seem to care about making improvements
Svantaggi
-Stingy about overtime -Severe lack of accountability for other departments. CTAs end up cleaning up the messes left by everyone else, and no one in those departments is willing to hold their people accountable. -Due to the above, the job sincerely does not pay enough. We are losing people left and right because other CROs will pay them more for less work. If CTA workload was actually in-scope, it would be competitive. As is, definitely not. -Not a lot of communication about promotions, and in general people have to over-perform for about 2 years before getting bumped to CTA2 (which is only a pay increase of about 3k per year). This came up on the employee survey, and the response from the CEO was basically "we have merit based pay, if you want more money work harder." -Lack of management from study teams -Experienced CTAs have to spend enormous amounts of time training new CTAs -Most studies under-resourced, everyone in clinical operations is stretched thin and stressed
