Vantaggi

Health Benefits are great, Retirement benefits are decent.

Svantaggi

Overworked and under paid should be the mantra here. The management is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and untrained. I hear and see discrimination daily from management and employees, It is a giant meat market where the men gather around new hires to "scope out the fresh meat". It is more of a dating site than a business. NO HR on site, untrained, power hungry workers that were elevated into a management position with no formal training, micro manage and violate employee rights on a daily basis. Training is minimal (13 weeks) and then you are expected to function on the level of a seasoned revenue agent/tax law attorney or you are punished for it. You are hardly allowed to go to the bathroom and your every movement is tracked by managers. Definitely a racist environment unless you are African American. Strick 30 minute lunch which starts from the time you leave your desk, with the equivalent of 10 mins to eat before you have to plan enough time to get back upstairs in the elevator.

Vantaggi

-Got me started in my career as an auditor -thorough tax law training -many senior auditors helping you learn the profession

Svantaggi

-communication from management is not always transparent -when you are at the bottom of the ladder, you get verbal abuse from not only POA and taxpayers (understandable, given this is the IRS), but also management/OJI's. They want to look good to their bosses and will throw you under the bus if they have to in order to save themselves. Even if they gave you instructions that got you in trouble. They SHOULD be supporting you in your function as an auditor, but they'll do whatever is easiest for themselves ultimately. -on job training can be disorganized -bureaucratic culture -like many other companies, a lot of things you're expected to learn by yourself. Such as how to avoid POA delays.
