It's a OK job to have if you're right out of college for a year, just to get some experience but they are awful at keeping homegrown talent. Just terrible treatment of employees

I just had to respond to this part of the positive review, clearly made by the CEO or someone he made do it for him.
"The fast paced and competitive environment can apparently cause some that leave to become maliciously hostile to the point that they broadly generalize an entire organization after only getting a small view of the Web marketing aspect of that organization."
The environment is "fast paced and competitive" in a way that a sweat shop is fast paced, not in the good, challenging way like a start up with cool ideas. This company is not "competitive" at all; they do nothing better and/or faster than anyone. Upper management wants the same results as companies that have 3x the employees, resources and time, and puts the failures on the employees just doing what they were asked to do rather than upper mgmt.
I'd say the ratio of people leaving the company vs. being fired/laid off is about 10 to 1. The reason people leave is simple: this company is on its way out. They are behind technologically and creatively. The people that do actually get fired/laid off were either on their way out anyway or were not qualified to do the job in the first place, due in large part to a lack of HR and employees doing interviewing/hiring.
