Working in the field has some enormous advantages. I would highly recommend it. Working with teachers / principles is great, best of all is seeing actual progress and growth with students in schools.

very difficult to advance. Nepotism is rampant, although shrinking. Sales runs the roost. many support folks are treated as 2nd class to the sales organization. Nobody polices what is fairly abusive behavior by the sales team as long as they reach quota, they are untouchable.

Likewise, our sales team members are dedicated, passionate, and persistent—and they have been extremely successful. We have industry-standard sales incentives in place, and we feel they are working well, motivating the sales team to deliver consistently good results. Given the above dynamics, we don't tolerate "abusive behaviors." We strongly encourage you to speak to your manager or human resources if you feel that unjustified things are happening so we can work to remedy the problems. We are happy to see that you have been with us for five years and hope that it will be many more!

Pay is competitive. Remote work. A few days a week of regional travel at the federal compensation rate. This has been an educational entry-level job to learn the basic stakeholders and sales cycles for K-12 curriculum. The people I work with are great and knowledge/experience is a strong resource at this company.

The higher leadership of the organization does not foster a positive, collaborative culture. Different teams/regions work in silos. Any collaboration and communication happens primarily by our own individual efforts. Also, systems change yearly. It's difficult for everyone to adapt, and as a result the sales team has little faith in following the process. Job security is iffy. There has been continuous talk of eliminating my position in my state for over a year now.
