PWD is a vendor of Costco ( PWD/In-Store Focus staff are not employees of Costco) and, if you are a Costco member, have your own membership card, and need to pick up some groceries or an item or two after work, you are located in a Costco which is handy.

Many: there is only 1 break of 30 minutes in an 8 hour shift with no 15 minute breaks in-between the day. You must arrive 15 earlier at the start, unpaid time, to load up your equipment for the day: mats, table, product, supplies to do the demo, cooler, thermometers etc. Then to arrive back to unload, sanitize and put away the equipment in 15 to 20 minutes before the shift ends as a team working on emptying the carts, washing and sanitizing dishes, coolers, appliances, bins, coolers, prepare bins for the next day's demos, sweep/wash floors, empty all garbage bins, put away carts, ice packs and everything used by all. If all the work by the team is not done by the end of the shift. which is usually the case, you are not paid for extra time worked (unpaid time adds up over the months). The maximum a person as a demonstrator is capped at $14.00 no matter how many years you have worked there; no benefit packages. Management at this particular location is terrible, bullies the staff, yells, writes up people, takes shifts away just because. If on contract, which pays 50 cents more than minimum wage, your availability to work must be seven days a week at their time needed for six shifts a weeks, mandatory to work on Saturday and Sundays. You end up never knowing what your schedule for the next week will be until Saturday. Cannot budget nor plan personal life. On Saturdays you are given your work schedule for the next week; schedules are posted weekly. Furthermore, you may be called on the morning you are to go in to work a shift and told not to come in if the vendor cancelled their demo or, you may be sent home early if the vendor did not have enough stock out and the product is sold out. The basic need of water is not met. You are promoting food and non-food products to increase retail sales to COSTCO members to maintain a 20% of sales quota by promoting a product, talking it up while cooking and serving in warehouses which are a dry air environment leaving a person dry in the mouth and throat,very thirsty throughout the day. You cannot have a water bottle with you at your demo table. People with PWD are not valued, mistreated as well, with workplace allowances not met upon requiring. My experience with management was terrible, their style; bullying, micromanaging. Very high turnover of staff too, a revolving door of people hired here are gone in short time.
