Vantaggi
- Paid commission + city weighting - If working 8 hours you get 1 hour unpaid break and 20 min paid break - Don't need any experience to work here - You get appreciated for being good with customer service - If you work well they will quickly give you more hours if needed/desired
Svantaggi
- Poor salary for working long hours - Managers expect a lot from you and all employers with extra responsibility (stockroom responsible for example) get burned out, but don't get paid more - Deliveries are often wrong leading to a lot of extra work which you don't get paid for - INCREDIBLY poor working conditions, especially in the stock rooms. Many stores don't even have a proper lunch room. A lot of people get back problems because ALL the stock rooms are too small. Working 9 hours straight with aircondition that's not working properly. They constantly talk about "Health & Safety" which is hypocrytical - Poor resources and tech equipment that often fails. And very often you won't finish the work you're supposed to do because of it, but you will still be yelled at and get the blame for - Complaints won't be heard (especially not from Sales Assistants) - Spanish people are "privileged" - they get promoted quickly than anyone else even though they don't know basic things (like folding things properly). - Spanish people speak Spanish with each other in the workplace making everyone else feel excluded (and if you complain about it, they think you're racist) - Employers speak poor English so if you misunderstand any orders they will yell at you. One girl got fired because the manager thought she didn't take the job seriously, when fact is the manager's orders weren't clear - Managers stress you out. If you're not QUICK enough - you WILL be yelled at - Rota is often being changed without you getting a notice about it. Has happened 4 times where I come to work, and they have changed the rota without me knowing, and all they do is apologise - Stockroom responsibles are normally working ALONE, and needs to price and organise thousands of items ALONE - Even if you get promoted, you salary is still very bad. You will have 90% more responsibility but only earn approx. £50-200 more per month than full time sales assistants - Constantly understaffed, so if you call in sick they will make you feel bad about it - In the contract it says you can quit "immediately" during your probation period (3 months). I wanted to be a nice person, so I gave my notice 2 weeks before. THEN I'm being informed that since I quit after the 15th of the month my salary may be 10 working days late. The contract doesn't state anything about it
