Performance plans are misused as a tool to terminate employees, a well-known HR tactic to avoid lawsuits. The CMO lacks any real marketing background, fostering a “bro culture” and popularity contests where being liked matters more than performance. There have been three CMOs in the last five years, yet the company shows no meaningful growth. Leadership is unstable and the owner’s inner circle of friends remain secure regardless of contribution or results. Projects are rushed, poorly structured, and often repeated due to a lack of true direction.

We’re disappointed to read your review and want to take a moment to address several of the statements shared. Firstly, it’s important to clarify that performance improvement plans (PIPs) at Info-Tech are designed as structured development tools, not punitive measures. They are used thoughtfully and sparingly, with clear criteria and timelines, and are reviewed through multiple layers of leadership and HR oversight. We strongly disagree with the implication that they are used deliberately as a path to termination. However, we are transparent that if the goals are not met, a potential outcome can be termination of employment. The characterization made is not aligned with our processes or values. We’re equally concerned by the inaccurate depiction of our marketing leadership. Our Chief Marketing Officer brings relevant executive experience to the role and leads a diverse and high-performing team focused on growth, innovation, and measurable outcomes. Leadership accountability is taken seriously across the business, and no role, regardless of level, is immune to performance expectations. To suggest otherwise is not only incorrect but undermines the integrity of our broader leadership team. We recognize that in any growing organization, priorities and initiatives will evolve. Our teams approach projects with clear objectives and strong cross-functional collaboration behind them, and therefore we welcome feedback as part of that process. We remain committed to improving how we scope, structure, and execute initiatives, and to ensuring teams are set up for success. While the workload can be dynamic, especially in a fast-scaling environment, our teams are highly capable and we are proud of the strategic progress made across the business. We understand that individual experiences can vary, and we regret that your time at Info-Tech left you with this perspective. That said, we do not recognize the culture you've described here and remain committed to fostering a workplace defined by transparency, respect, and results. What we can share is that this is a fast-paced industry that requires exceptional time management from all employees, regardless of the team they’re on.
