Vantaggi
Competitive base salary, good work-life-balance.
Svantaggi
Medical coverage not very good (higher premiums than smaller companies; significantly higher deductibles as well), even compared to other companies with 1/10th the revenue and <1/2 the size (inspite of their claim that their benefits are competitive with analogous companies of similar size). Overall, company is very cut-throat; does not care about it's employees on an individual level. If you've ever worked for a family business, the kind where the owner will strike up a conversation with you or smile at you and say hello--think of Ingevity as the complete opposite of this culture; typical public company where you are simply a number, unless, perhaps you're part of some inner circle of people who have each other's backs during crisis, perhaps due to long association with one another in the industry. The "energy" of the work environment is very low: employees rarely speak to one another unless it's business related, if at all. This is not a company where an outsider can enter and make an impact or be valued quickly, as there are too many subject matter experts/too many egos to allow for this. Business is business at Ingevity--no company picnics, no Christmas parties (unless your department decides to conduct one independently), very little camaraderie, not many perks and certainly not a progressive company.
