I met a few kind people there that I still speak to. None of them work there anymore though as it has apparently somehow gotten worse

I honestly don't know where to begin. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. Unless you are the current favorite of the CEO expect to be treated like you provide no benefit to the company even if you do all the work. You will be strung along until they find a way to get rid of you for someone new that the CEO can make a big deal about. The people who actually do the work are never recognized or properly compensated and those that do next to nothing but suck up to said CEO get all the credit. Heard management actively joke (many times) about how the longest lasting employee they had they never gave a raise. They never give anyone a raise unless they were backed into a corner. Even his (CEO’s) own kids gave up trying to work there (though in one case it’s probably for the best as that one was somehow even more toxic and awful to work for). It's incredibly toxic there, and they foster a culture that is that way. To them it is a feature, not a bug. A lot of “we’re family” and “bleeding blue” is tossed around, but I almost never saw them follow through on a “promise” and the CEO will just talk around you in circles until you give up. Everything he and “senior leadership” say is performative and lacking any substance. Benefits were at one point decent but they gutted them so now there's barely any PTO for the sales staff and salaried staff in the "back office" have "unlimited" PTO which honestly is just an excuse to never have to pay out hours, and so they can try and guilt you into never taking time off. Your health insurance will rotate every year to the cheapest options so good luck if you have any long standing health issues because you’ll probably be finding new doctors every few years as a result. Tried to talk to them about this, and was told I should see it as an opportunity to try something new. And that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the laughable “diversity” efforts. Women and POC are treated like trash, and rarely promoted (and if they are, good luck staying in that spot, it never lasts). Particularly when the CEO’s son was still there, you had no chance of being that’s week’s favorite if you weren’t a white guy in your 30s. I held off writing a review for some time as I didn’t want it linked back to me, because this isn’t the biggest company and it’s even easier to figure out who did what in the “back office” or “support staff” roles. But at this point I have had a job for some time that treats me like a human being and I am finally realizing that the way Insuritas does business is not “just how things are done”. A company can and should do better, but they don’t see anyone they hire as human, just resources, and expendable ones at that. I won’t even get into some of the really shady things that were discussed / rumored / etc. Also, if you made it this far and you see good reviews on their Glassdoor, that is because they got a number of bad ones and would incentivize new employees to review. Basically in the honeymoon period before they realized what a nightmare this place is. Working there, and for as long as I did was one of the worst choices I ever made for my career. There is no professional development (unless you are an agent, and that is because it is required to keep their licenses and the insurance agencies provided it). Unless you have no choice don’t work there, and if you have to work there be looking for a way out as soon as humanly possible.
