Vantaggi

The company was good when we were like 30-50 people. Salary was above the industry standards.

Svantaggi

I recently became a victim of cost-cutting measures at my company, and I want to share my experience to shed light on the situation. Here’s what happens: they engage in mass hiring for short-term projects and then resort to mass layoffs when those projects are completed. Once the work is done, they struggle to redeploy the additional staff to other teams, labeling them as "excess baggage" and laying them off under the guise of cost-cutting. They make questionable hiring decisions, such as recruiting far more people than needed for certain roles. For example, why would one product require eight Product Managers or nine DevOps engineers, especially when it doesn’t have significant traffic? Many of these extra hires were brought in for tasks like Azure migration and other stuffs, but once those tasks were completed, the company couldn’t accommodate them elsewhere, leading to layoffs. To make matters worse, I wasn’t paid any severance. I was asked to leave within a month without any support or assistance. This has deeply impacted my personal life as well—I had my wedding planned in three months, but the bride’s family called it off after this ordeal. This company has not only cost me my job but also disrupted my life in unimaginable ways. The layoffs are conducted very discreetly, with minimal communication or transparency. Leadership is disorganized and lacks technical expertise. The senior architect relies heavily on tools like ChatGPT for guidance, and the so-called directors seem equally incompetent. This company used to be exceptional when it was smaller, with around 50 employees. However, the greed of the India center head, who seems more interested in boosting his résumé, coupled with poor advice from senior architects and HR, has driven this once-great organization into the ground. If you are considering an offer from this company, treat it as nothing more than short-term employment.

Vantaggi

Fully remote and tends to be flexible depending on your position. Unlimited PTO, but again only really flexible/great depending on your position. Some of the folks you get to work with are really sweet, including my former manager and team. The only problem is with all the layoffs, you can't expect them to work with you for long.

Svantaggi

There is no real growth within the company. My department was entirely let go and replaced by outsourcing from India almost a week after promising several members promotions. The company is very clique-y to the point where if you aren't close with the favorites, you tend to get forgotten about. Again, no real growth within the company so it not only takes forever to get hired on full time if your contracted (average time is over a year), but you shouldn't expect to receive any real pay increases. Pay is not competitive at all and is generally lower than the national average. If you work as a Campaign Manager, expect to work late, have meetings at odd hours, and not get the chance to enjoy the unlimited PTO because you're going to have to be fully responsible with finding full coverage (which is near impossible for those guys).
