Pros- if you work in Leeds there is normally a leaving do every week, sometimes multiple leaving do s The pleasure of knowing when you leave that place, that you will never had to work anywhere like that again.
Svantaggi
I was previously an employee with TD Direct Investing and worked with them a considerably long time before we were bought out by Interactive Investor. We were warned that Interactive Investor were a tough company to work for and we would expected to do ‘over and above’ should we be in with any chance of an annual bonus. That warning severely underestimated the hard work they were going to expect. If you worked in ‘customer services’ or ‘complaints’ you were given targets that were not achievable at all, (unless you took a camp bed and stayed overnight in the office). Every day you were hounded and questioned about whether you had to hit your targets, little praise was given and constant criticism that you were not working hard enough. Emails to Teams were always along the lines of “you know what’s coming next ,we want more”. One Senior Manager is so bullying that no one can directly work under her for a long period of time. If you raise any genuine concerns with her you are just told ‘why don’t you leave?’. There is little support or compassion if you are dealing with something personal that may affect you work life. Supervisors are emailed on and off all day long to a level of insanity, querying why their teams are not doing more work putting immense pressure on both supervisors and staff. Of about 8 originally supervisors with TD Direct Investing, only 1 now remains. In the time I was there I saw girls crying at their desks, grievances being raised. Since leaving I had heard that 2 girls are off with long term sickness due to stress and anxiety. If you do wish to take the risk and work here I would advise you join a Union as in time they will screw you over. There are better firms out there who appreciate and value their staff, having moved on now I can vouch for this!
