Intersection is not a true start up. It is a merger of two other companies, Titan and The Control Group. They were both formed in 2001 and had vastly different corporate cultures and missions until they merged in 2015. There are holdouts from both original groups that are resistant to change, and everyone's experience at Intersection varies based on if their manager is new, former Titan or former Control Group. Despite the "feel good" mission of bringing services to underserved communities, Intersection is at it's core an out of home advertising company with the revenue/sales team being the most visible. Pros: + Opportunities for travel between 9 office locations + Visible product in NYC you can be proud of + Lots of effort on HR part to improve culture. Transparency around career opportunities, regularly planned corporate events, focus on diversity in hiring, especially on the tech and product teams + Opportunities for professional development and networking + 401k match, HSA matching + Free snacks, occasional lunches (no free drinks besides coffee) + Senior leadership is approachable and often know your name/story which feels good

Svantaggi

- Can be a toxic atmosphere. There are some managers who should not be managers, especially hold outs from before the merger - Some managers incl. senior leadership can be micromanagers - As mentioned, the sales team is highly visible and prized for selling but nothing else. If you're on another team, be prepared to have your hardwork overlooked especially if it's innovative or new from what they've always done - Not a nimble company. Many layers of approval to get anything done, deadlines are often missed (esp on new Link rollouts, new programmatic initiative) - Does not seem to be accommodating to people on work visas - Compensation and workload vary widely from team to team and does not always seem fair. The highest paid, least hardworking individuals seem to benefit from nepotism and friendships with senior leadership, former CEO There have been a number of high level departures (Director and above) in 2019 so unsure what this means for the future of the company.

Wonderful, smart people who are happy to work together. Great leadership who is open to new ideas and wants to include you in decisions. Flexible PTO and working in the office same days as everyone else is an effective strategy for minimal meetings on remote days.

Mostly white people. Wish it was full remote but still great.
