Managers are genuinely concerned with your welfare (within the context of business challenges) and are considerate of family-related situations.

The company has been going through significant internal reorganization of its business structure due to the changing market environment and that has created much confusion internally and produced constantly changing priorities. Such an environment is not conducive to quality IT results. The company has always had some legacy applications that need to be replaced and efforts to retire some of the critical ones have been slow going due to resistance by employees who have been there for many years. This impedes any efforts to implement new applications or technologies.
