Vantaggi
There is plenty of work and overtime is almost always available. Prefab shop could have potential but is done wrong.
Svantaggi
Pay is weak. There is plenty of work and overtime is almost always available. Yes, that might seem like a good thing and it is for things like paying my bills. However, the reason that these things are available is because the performance of the PM that I have worked with is abysmal. Little to no support is offered and virtually none is given when it is asked for. The prefab system that they have is not worth anywhere near what they think it is. The idea of "lean construction" works very well for building cars. It translates very poorly into electrical work and creates massive amounts of waste and logistical expenses. Furthermore, it does not create electricians from apprentices. At best, it produces assemblers. Employees that have worked at this company throughout their apprenticeship and get their license struggle to grasp simple electrical concepts. They know how to assemble a crate full of prewired boxes but when something doesn't work properly because the prefab shop made mistakes (it happens constantly), they have no idea what to do or how to troubleshoot. Employee appreciation is a joke as well. Functions like employee appreciation "parties" happen in the middle of the week, at a their prefab shop. If ever something has made me feel like I'm unimportant, it's working for a company that cuts costs on occasional employee functions like this.
