Vantaggi
- Even if you don't have a huge amount of experience, there's still a chance you'll get hired because many managers look for a good attitude over a perfect resume
- Collaborative environment
- Visibility given to non-scientists in the form of Journal Club and Breakfast and Learn
- They've never had a mass layoff, which is saying something in today's climate
- The company is small enough that Jeff Miller probably knows your name
- Free snacks in the break room, and unlimited fizzy water because they splurged on a Bevi
- If you work here, particularly in R&D, you're getting paid to learn a lot of cool new stuff
- Pay was pretty decent
Svantaggi
- They've never had a mass layoff because the CFO is the most fiscally conservative person on the planet, which means it can be VERY difficult to get promoted sometimes. In the choice between 'I get more money per year but twenty people lose their jobs' and 'everyone stays put but the promotion I've been working towards for two years gets denied,' I'm obviously going to pick the second one, but it still sucks. This is in no way a dig on their CFO - she's lovely and I do not envy her position - it just is what it is.
- Not as many wellness incentives as some of the bigger companies
- Some managers can be a little difficult, but it's not like this is unique to Invivoscribe
- Hybrid work isn't really a thing anymore, which is kind of a bummer
