Vantaggi
Great location downtown. Large open work spaces. Easy to collaborate. This place really used to be great. A place I really enjoyed coming to every day. Now you can't find a smile anywhere.
Svantaggi
Several key departments are in crisis (HR, Finance, IT, Research, Development, NOC) as they are experiencing massive turnover due to poor leadership. Morale has never been lower amongst employees. The culture that was once inclusive and fun has turned into cut-throat and sabotage. Massive e-mail chains with name calling and finger pointing are a regular occurrence at Ipreo. No one at the Director level and above owns any accountability. Micromanagement is rampant. You can only get thrown under the bus so many times before you start taking the train. Absolutely no opportunity for career advancement. I am over worked to the point of a breakdown. Inquiries for raises and promotions are met with business jargon. If you ask "Why?" you are met with silence as your manager's business word generator spins to output a transparent answer. There's also very few people left that didn't relocate from New York, D.C., or join when the office first opened. The Ipreo of 2014 was far more enjoyable than the Ipreo of 2016. Outdated technology, draconian information security policies, and inefficient leadership will only perpetuate this trend. Job responsibilities and influence to the organization are greatly exaggerated during the interview process. Whatever you are interviewing for, expect to perform the duties of the level above and the level below you all at the same time. The HR onboarding process is a nightmare. People on my team have to use incorrect or full legal spellings of their names for login and e-mail address because of HR mistakes and strict Technology policies. There is also a strong chance that there will be turnover in the department you are hired in during the several weeks between accepting your offer letter and when you actually start. Expect to be at the same position you are hired at forever while more and more people are added from the outside above you in your organizational chart.
