Vantaggi
First of all I put off writing a review for my love of some of the staff at the channel still. But after reading the countless fake reviews I had to do what is right and speak the truth. Secondly, I only gave 2 stars because of the amazing people who are abused by the company and because I was able to make beneficial content for my religion while working there. Those 2 reasons are that extra star above the minimum rating I could give. There are only 2 reasons I can think of that anyone stays at this job First is their colleagues, there are a few really good people working there, who work hard, harder then they should and are treated like total expendable trash. Everyone works way more hours than they are meant to with little to no gratitude and extremely low pay for industry standards. I'll talk more in detail about the unfair pay pyramid going on here. The only other pro I can think of which is probably why you're looking to apply here is working for the Deen, which they will take full advantage of your love for Allah to squeeze as much out of you for as little pay possible.
Svantaggi
Get a coffee.. this is going to be long. 1. Pay - not only do they underpay everyone but they do not pay men and women equally, unless you are a non-Muslim white woman. Then they will pay you a ridiculous amount more than the Muslims working themselves to death. Since Jr. left as CEO I have heard that things have gotten even worse in this regard and pay is now extremely late for many staff members which is just unacceptable. Pay your staff what and when they should be paid. 2. Toxic work environment. It often felt like we were competing for daddy's attention. Hoping to be the favourite, because if you aren't his favourite you will be belittled, insulted, and criticised. The favourite will be praised and treated as if they can't do a single wrong, and given more authority than their position holds. Laughing, talking and general socialising amongst staff is frowned upon. They tried many times to get people to conform to a "bank like" clothing guidelines but failed miserably because this is a creative industry and an editor isn't going to wear suit. Anyone who actually has industry experience and talent leaves this company very quickly which is why the majority of their staff are inexperienced in their job role and get practically no training once hired. They even tried to hire a tv presenter with no experience beyond being a presenter as a producer at one point... which shows their lack of understanding of their own industry. 3. Unrealistic workloads - due to the fact that cutting costs is their number one priority the teams are understaffed and over worked always. If you are seen laughing on commercial breaks it will be assumed you have TOO many staff on you team and you will be threatened to lose one of the very few members you have and desperately need. Entire shows are often run and created by 2-5 people (I'm talking pre-pro to post-pro) when there should be at least 10 people working on it, and usually with very short deadlines. Budgets are almost non-existent so everything you do will have to be made from not much more than your blood, sweat and often tears. I'm sure there is more but it took me a long time to recover (mentally) from working here and I'm sure my brain has blocked out parts of it due to trauma.
