Customers are great.
Embedded teams really allow you to build relationships with clients.
You learn a ton on the job (because you're given little valuable training).
The work is generally interesting, and leans towards newer trends in tech, if you're given the right project.
Svantaggi
Company doesn't respect any of your history. Don't bring your past to the table - their way of working is the only way of working.
Requests for career growth were shut down as "for Dutchies only" - this has changed, but speaks to leadership's mindset.
Management can be quite passive-aggressive and vague in their messaging, and it only gets worse after you bring the situation to HR.
Clueless as to American business culture from an employee's standpoint, nor do they wish to learn. Want to succeed? Think Dutch.
Delivery expectations from client vary wildly from internal management because management doesn't understand what people are supposed to do in a given role. They also won't tell you what they're looking for, so everything is guess-work from the consultant's side.
Work life balance is zero. On top of 50-60 hour weeks, expect monthly "strongly-encouraged" in-person evening training and teambuilding sessions with very little value.
