Corporate culture has gone toxic; even the worst managers (and there are quite a few) are axiomatically right. Very us-vs-them climate; corruption is a serious problem (favoritism, whistleblower retaliation, etc) as is dishonest and underhanded behavior on the part of HR. Meanwhile, the company is busily outsourcing everything it can to low-labor-cost economies and hoping no one notices or, failing that, understands what it means for the company's future.
Executives are completely disconnected from reality, NEVER talk to non-managers outside of obviously choreographed dog-and-pony shows a couple of times per year, and seem to have no interest at all beyond quarterly stock performance and how that impacts their own compensation packages.
