Favouritism is widespread, and if you’re not in the inner circle, you’ll be overlooked regardless of talent or performance. Toxic behaviour from favourites is tolerated or ignored entirely. Performance reviews are biased and based more on politics than outcomes. Extravagant spending on business class flights and flashy events for senior leadership while the rest of the team gets no perks or recognition (except for one huge party a year that is a grudge...) When you don't make a lot, you'd rather have the money than a party. Talent isn’t nurtured or acknowledged unless already favoured. Visa sponsorship is dangled as a benefit but quickly becomes leverage, once accepted, you're expected to over-deliver with little support, creating a 'pound of flesh' dynamic that feels exploitative. Morale suffers, and high turnover is quietly accepted. Very sad watching major talent walk out the door consistently
