For instance, I have heard the n-word on several occasions with no shame; feel ashamed I did not speak up. There are clear advancement ceilings for various groups. - Despite the data-driven nature of the company, there is an ironic anti-intellectualism there. In Silicon Valley, no less, one of my managers told me noone cared about my graduate degrees . Fortunately, for most companies in the Valley, having higher education is considered a credit to the firm.
