A 37.5 hour work week
Svantaggi
Jackson used to be an okay place to work. In the past I would recommend friends to come work at Jackson and defend Jackson’s rules and procedures to customers as the way we do business. I can no longer say that now. The CEO Laura Prieskorn has created a toxic environment which has led to staff shortages, mass turnover and high stress. Everything she or the people she has installed to manage different departments have made the company exponentially worse with every new change they make. Part of this is is due to major nepotism and part is the culture of fear of retribution Laura single handedly created. Every day is filled with angry customers because of something that was not done properly or in a timely manner and upper management does not seem to care how many good employees they burn thru as we are all replaceable. Jackson does a great job marketing themselves as being a great place to work and how much they give back to the local community yet they do absolutely nothing to give back to their employees. They will exploit you by dangling increased compensation for learning new things to do more for the company and then give you a “meets expectations” on your review and give you .38 cents and some Lifesavers candy. Anyone that hires into Jackson needs to know that they do not care about you, your health or well being. They asked almost everyone to work at home during the pandemic and gave associates literally nothing to help them do that and now they are writing people up daily as justification to force them back into the office even though employees continued to help the business thrive. Laura is going to run Jackson into the ground and it seems no one on the board seems interested in stopping her. I anticipate a lot of lawsuits in Jackson’s future. If I was a customer looking to invest in an annuity I would skip considering Jackson. The products are loaded with fees, overly complicated and most financial advisors selling the products have no idea how they work. Once you buy an annuity from Jackson most advisors will tell you to call Jackson for an explanation how they work. If you’re thinking about applying don’t. Don’t waste your time spending years working for an employer that moves the goal posts and gas lights you when you disagree with a new procedure or poorly thought out product they conjure up to confuse customers out of their retirement money.
