Svantaggi

braking uk employment law Section 77 of the Equality Act 2010 ACAS Code of Practice Section 13 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 Extremely poor management: Communication from leadership was often dismissive, unprofessional, and at times inappropriate. Legitimate concerns around equipment, safety, and staff behaviour were not taken seriously. Understaffed and unsafe ratios: Regularly expected to supervise between 40–60 children with only one other staff member, without proper resources or support. Faulty and insufficient equipment: Many laptops provided were non-functional or without chargers. No extension leads were available, which made running sessions nearly impossible. Unpaid overtime and inappropriate demands: I was asked to store and transport company equipment without compensation or prior agreement. Overtime worked was not acknowledged or paid. Questionable safeguarding practices: Leadership made disturbing comments—such as suggesting children drink from a bathroom sink. Multiple parent and child complaints about food quality and hygiene were ignored. Lack of professional respect: Despite maintaining open communication (even while hospitalised), I received accusations of unprofessionalism without basis or evidence.

Vantaggi

Good working environment and management. The training modules are very useful and structured which allows you to be really confident when teaching the classes.

Svantaggi

It was a good company to work for and I loved working here but it required a lot driving to different schools.

Vantaggi

The role can be rewarding, and working with children is genuinely enjoyable.

Svantaggi

Unfortunately, the job is undermined by outdated laptops that require constant charging. This often leads to children becoming frustrated, while much of the lesson time is spent troubleshooting technology instead of teaching. Teachers and headteachers you are delivering the lesson for criticise you for not delivering lessons effectively. Support is available after the first week, but asking for help can be interpreted as being needy. Managers may arrive unannounced to observe lessons “to see how you’re getting on,” which can feel intrusive rather than supportive. Management is often unprofessional, dismissive, and accusatory rather than constructive. Be prepared to work well beyond contracted hours to plan lessons and travel between sites. The travel allowance is minimal and does not match what was described during the interview.
