A lot of really lovely people who genuinely want to help each other do their best work. Not a lot of big egos. Endless opportunities to build new things or solve business issues, there's always a way to own and solve a problem you identify. Product is easy to understand and solves a relatable business problem, not hard to buy into what you are supporting. Changes in the product are clearly communicated and keeping on top of what is new isn't a challenge. A great place to start if you are joining in a support role especially - lots of ways to grow and pick up new skills. Benefits include additional generous time off over Christmas as well as in each quarter of the year, parental leave is great too. Remote flexible working is handy with kids at home.

Strategy shifts regularly and redundancies as a result are not uncommon. If you experience any kind of anxiety around job security, really reconsider if a role here is right for you. I survived multiple rounds before I was finally made redundant and it's not stress I would wish on anyone. Communication could be better, occasionally you'll be assigned an initiative another team is already planning out or is in the middle of actioning. Not the end of the world but an avoidable surprise.

Small enough team that people mostly got along. Base salary was not bad.

Very limited voice. Constant fear of being fired due to how management would interact with you. They did not fully understand who did what in the team. Did not show equal appreciation to all parties involved in releasing a quality product. Alcohol consumption was very encouraged. You would be shamed if you did not drink. Strict 8:30 - 5:30 work day. I am fine with the length of the work day but flexibility of start and end time would have been nice. Benefits were lacking in quality and quantity. That would be fine if the company gave a plus elsewhere such as schedule but it did not.

Thanks for your review. You are right in that cultures can vary from office to office, so we have worked hard to ensure everyone at JA understands our core company culture. This includes all employees coming to Sydney at least once a year to get to know the whole team. In the year since you were there a lot has changed and we are extremely happy with the team we have in the US now. Thanks again for your input and all the best.
