Vantaggi
- Great WLB. Work isn't too hard and there isn't an insane amount of pressure. Though this could depend on your manager & team. - Great product that is ever expanding and growing. User counts are ever increasing. - Great moves towards AI - Knowledgeable colleagues - Remote work
Svantaggi
- Working here can feel like entering a family business. There is this group of long tenured engineers who rule the roost and receive more credit and praise and have more power. It's a very weird thing. It's almost like the whole Engineering department revolves around them. Don't get me wrong - a lot of them truly are great engineers. But again, it's really strange. In reality though, a major factor as to why these folks have stayed or boomerang-ed into the company is probably because they're all rooted in Edmonton and with increasing RTO mandates in the tech industry, there are simply no other comparable tech opportunities there (or Alberta in general). - Depending on your team, work can be very disorganized with shifting priorities, wasted work (work that ends up going nowhere), or very vague requirements (which is alright sometimes). - Autonomy is low. Slow to get access to things and many people needed for approval of a solution. - Compensation is alright for a remote tech company. I think they can get away with lower salaries and lower upward mobility opportunities due to being remote. The tech industry is rife with RTO and remote opportunities are become increasingly rare. I think 3 stars is a fair rating.
