Svantaggi
Toxic workplace full of nepotism and bullying. There is a division between departments. Selling doesn't talk to Operations and nobody talks to Catering. Nobody listens. There's a divide between older partners and newer partners in every department. The Partnership likes to blow their own trumpet about the well being of the partners. Apart from when you go to them with a problem, then they won't acknowledge it. Constant team and manager reshuffles. Partners are moved from areas they work well in to ones that they don't. Mobility within the company is difficult. Moving to a different role meant effectively reapplying for our own jobs. And then being rejected for them. I was rejected from another role for something that I didn't say. They'd rather hire from outside than promote from within. Hours are anti social and inflexible Overtime is unfairly awarded. The whole company has a massive internal communications problem. There's a culture of blame not one of support. We are told to use our own intitiative. But when you do you are told it was the wrong thing to do. They refused us furlough through the 2nd or 3rd lockdown in the pandemic and we were put under pressure to come into the shop. Initially we were all under pressure to redeploy to Waitrose. Furlough in 1st lockdown felt grudgingly given. If this site would let me I would score minus 5. Wouldn't recommend you work for this company. Not until or unless they make some serious changes to their practices. They've been living off a reputation earned a generation ago. They are not the employer you think they are and they are not the brand you remember. Go work for their direct high street rivals. In both the department store and the supermarket sides. They might pay slightly worse but they'll treat you better.
