Vantaggi

Used to a fun and engaging place to work and company goals and vision were clear

Svantaggi

For a company who is an alleged proponent of anti-bullying, there are several upper management members who scream, yell, threaten, and intimidate their direct reports and others--which creates a "junior high" culture There are very few promotions or growth opportunities Most managers have no managerial training or are not qualified to be managers Favoritism and nepotism are prevalent in that pets and relatives are generally the ones who get promotions Culture is ageist in that people under 35 get the promotions-especially in IT and Marketing Staff is incredibly lean due to cuts and layoffs No vision or strategy on where company is going

Vantaggi

Some of the people are great. Pay is good.

Svantaggi

Jostens is having a lot of issues with current management, and balancing new talent with priorities for hitting profitable numbers in preparation to sell the company. 60% of the leadership that was hired in the last 12 months have been let go or quit due to constant restructuring, and the hiring of consultants so payroll can stay below the EBITA line for future buyers. The talent they brought in were a great addition in hopes of trying to bring the company up to speed on best in class practices, but the company would rather focus on making sure the sales teams are protected, and cooking the books to make sure commissions are protected. It feels like they really only protect legacy employees as they know where the bodies are buried. I'd recommend to wait to apply to this place after they sell the company, so they can clean up leadership and have a more stable path forward. Teams members have been going to HR to work through the leadership challenges, but with the company being owned by private equity, there is no sign for improvement until they get sold.
