      great place to work, very flexible and understanding with personal issues. overtime was usually available and the pay was above average

      management was the worst part about the whole company. Employees would have great ideas on how to make production flow better but nothing was ever done about it. Layoffs were common and they would lead you on thinking there was more work in the future

      Great company to work for back in the 1970's and 80's and 90's... Back in the day we had excellent supervisors who were promoted from within... Building OEM machines was smooth and fast.. We built 40 + miners and 60 +shuttle cars every month. Plus a Mope Beach Powell machine..

      Today it is very rare that a good employee is promoted from within.. The new Joy policy is to hire college grads for salaried positions, instead of promoting from within. These grads come on board and have no idea what a mining machine is or how to build it.. Today Joy Mining is full of supervisors who are there just for the money.. Thank god the shop workers know how to build the machines.. If it was not for the knowledge of the shop workers this company would have never been number #1..
