Vantaggi

- Nothing. This place is bait and switch. They hire clinicians from out of state to accept awful hourly rates. The lead HR lady is very unprofessional and needs mental health support.

Svantaggi

- poor pay, no breaks, heavy caseload, politics and favoritism, i was encouraged to bill falsely by the billing department and was told it was a business first

Vantaggi

- A team of collaborative and supportive therapists. - Most clients and families are kind and lovely to work with. - A good stepping stone to get experience in working in a multidisciplinary setting, if you can tolerate the cons detailed below.

Svantaggi

Work culture: - Management/leadership tries so hard to foster this 'we are family' and 'if you have any problems, come talk to us and let us help you' environment but the high turnover rate speaks for itself. - Poor communication between leadership and therapists. When things are difficult, leadership prefers to sweep things under the rug rather than openly acknowledging people are having a hard time and discuss challenges. Apparently only talking about 'positive things' during meetings will help foster a positive work environment. - Therapists often felt unsupported by leadership. When issues were brought up regarding high caseload/documentations, challenging clients or burnout due to back-to-back sessions, solutions that were provided by leadership often disadvantage the employee. From an employee's perspective, it doesn't feel like the practice works with therapists to meet therapists' needs. - Leadership states that they 'welcome' open discussions and feedback and have collected employee survey in the past but more often than not, no concrete changes happen that increase employees' wellbeing or work satisfaction. - Leadership constantly 'encourages' therapists to come in on Saturdays to do makeup sessions or 'make extra money'. - Compliance to clinic policies trumps everything at this place. From an employee's perspective, it feels like micromanagement. Employees get called in and written up for not adhering to policies. Client care/quality of care: - This practice values quantity more than quality. No true mentorship for newer employees or fresh graduates that are new in the field. Many of the newer therapists have 'supervision' at the beginning; however, it's not in the practice's culture for more senior therapists to observe other newer therapists' sessions to provide feedback and support. - When 'clinical trainings' were provided, they primarily focus on documentations, time management, insurance/denial issues and scheduling or admin related challenges. No CEUs or in service trainings were provided to support therapists' growth in clinical or evaluation skills. - Leadership incurs many types of out-of-pocket additional charges on families for not adhering to clinic policies. Workload and employees' wellbeing: - High caseload and 30 direct hours with patients weekly, many back-to-back and 30-min sessions, leaving therapists with lots of documentations (daily notes, progress notes and assessment reports), little breaks in between and little time to prep for sessions or collaborate. - No true appreciation for therapists other than quick shoutouts during meetings as well as some goodies on OT/SLP awareness months and birthdays. - One-hour lunch is technically unpaid as an 8-hour shift means working from 8am-5pm or 10am-7pm and a 10-shift means working from 8am-7pm. Professional growth: - No concrete way to grow as a therapist. The practice defines growth by taking on more clients and taking on graduate students but other than that, there are limited opportunities for professional growth. Salary and benefits: - On top of all that stated above, pay is significantly lower than market rate. - Significantly less PTO and paid holidays compared to other private practice or settings. Six paid holidays and five sick days in a year is the bare minimum a company can give to its employees.
