I loved my team - all young, fun to be around and ambitious, and I'm still in contact with some former colleagues. Nice office and definitely some memorable times.

During my time there I witnessed many interns being paid nothing or close to nothing working between 9/10 hours a day and often staying after dinner time for retrospectives and demos (to be fair they sometimes paid pizza but I think that's the bare minimum you could do). Lots of empty promises made when I applied for the job which were far from fulfilled: I was told I was going to be doing certain things and ended up doing something different and I can assure you this was the case for many employees there. Founders fell short of creating a good relationship with the many interns working for them, which resulted in a lot of negative talk about them behind their backs. Also, work is completely devoid of structure which drove me crazy at times, walking into the office and having no idea what you'll be working on for the day. All of this is kind of ironic when you consider that the founders, coming from a financial and corporate background, told everyone they wanted to steer clear of creating a corporate-like culture.

- Many empty promises concerning the compensation. Many were promised a commission, which no one ever received. - Lack of organization and clear communication. The abundance of diverse tasks could be overwhelming. Tasks were often not communicated clearly so the expectations didn't match the end result. Or, while working through the task, suddenly you were told this is not what was discussed or there is a change of direction. This can happen within a few short hours or after working on a project for weeks. - False expectations. Despite an internship contract, you will be treated like a full-time employee. You will have 9-10h working days and you will be held accountable like full-time employees. It could be that you are expected to work on holidays, Friday evenings or on weekends. - Punctuality is expected from you, however, this doesn’t work the other way around. - Founders are not comfortable with criticism. This has ended in disputes in public, which was not a pleasant experience for any of the involved parties.
