There is plenty of opportunity to develop new skills and new experiences. There is also plenty of opportunity to establish connections in companies and industries that the individual is interested in pursuing.

Long hours are often required, work over weekends is often required, and vacations can sometimes be difficult to schedule around engagements. Work / Life balance is not as good as it could be, and certainly it is not as good as one would find within industry.
