I started at KVC in the middle of the pandemic, but I felt like part of a team right away. If I ever have a question, or need something from someone on a different team or another department, I have always gotten a speedy helpful reply. A lot of jobs in the field of social work have little to no training or onboarding. With KVC there was two weeks of onboarding, training, & shadowing. The pay is also better than many other social work agencies. I also appreciate that KVC uses Gallup to guage employee satisfaction. Results are then discussed at every level so that EVERYONE can feel heard and focus on areas that can be improved upon. In other words, our feedback doesn't just go to the CEO so that executives can decide what meaningless incentives should be doled out next. We're ALL part of KVC and work to make it the supportive team atmosphere that it is.

The staff is just so nice and very helpful and supportive I’ve never been more happy at a job ! Most places don’t care for there employees but camber has been absolutely fantastic. The staff the culture just has been amazing I finally feel like I have a place somewhere !

Pay is significantly below for-profit market rates. nonprofit pay scale is a real tradeoff Director role is highly unstructured can feel chaotic, especially in 24/7 locations requiring after-hours work Toxic employees can linger too long the kindness and grace extended to everyone delays removal Some employees stay in roles that aren't a good long-term fit simply because they love the culture Heavy meeting load at director level can crowd out focused, strategic work
