-overly controlling corporate side causing management lots of stress, which trickles down to everyone else in the cafe and can cause a toxically anxious working environment -purposeful understaffing to save on labor, even on busy days -strict dress code -no shift meals, even though corporate is trying to make the food side of the company a bigger deal -very low pay compared to other similar companies, with some shift supervisors making as little as $8.50 an hour -increasingly fewer perks as the company focuses on expanding and is doing whatever it can to save $$$
