Vantaggi

The work was interesting and there was always the opportunity to continue learning. Depending on the supervisor, flexible work schedule was great. Ability to amass an incredible amount of vacation and sick leave.

Svantaggi

Poor (dysfunctional) management. Attitude of coworkers/supervisors was difficult to deal with at times-liked to talk about others coworkers/supervisors that were not present .

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry to hear you encountered a negative experience with VDL management. Our Employee Relations department is always available to assist employees with a wide range of workplace issues, including those you mentioned, for current employees. We are also implementing K-State Supervisory Foundations - training for all supervisors across the university - which will be fully operational in March of 2019 to reduce issues as you mentioned moving forward. Thank you for your feedback and 3+ years service to the university. K-State wishes you the best of luck with your future endeavors!

Vantaggi

- fantastic leave! PTO, Sick, Holiday, maternity - amazing people and students. Ranked high for friendliest students for a reason - tuition assistance for one place semester if you're continuing education - once your foot is in the door, potential to use internal connection to move up within the university

Svantaggi

- pay could be more competitive but makes up for it somewhat in leave - top heavy administration, former leadership made uprooting changes and didn't see the change through; left university scrambling - resistance to change causes siloes. - structural fiscal issues that doesn't work well for interdisciplinary, collaborative work - great coworkers move up the university or leave and don't stay long
