I'm not sure if the agile practices are that effective for larger teams. The open office structure (while super common in Japan) tends to be a bit disruptive since there are so many stand up meetings. Also the fact that there aren't enough meeting spaces can be a source of frustration. There are a lot of kind of 'optional' meetings that take place after work hours. Management is pushing a sort of flexible working hour scheme, but a lot of teams still have morning meetings and evening stand-ups, which make it difficult to work a schedule other than the regular 9:30 to 18:30. As is typical of Japan, no one leaves on the dot so expect 2 to 3 hours of overtime daily.
